TULSA, OK (PRWeb) January 19, 2007 - The Petroleum Equipment Institute's (PEI) Electrical Continuity Testing Committee is soliciting comments on PEI's Recommended Procedure for Testing Electrical Continuity of Fuel-Dispensing Hanging Hardware (PEI/RP400-02).

The Committee was responsible for writing RP400-02, and constantly monitors changes in equipment and testing procedures to revise the document on a periodic basis. The committee includes representatives from petroleum marketing, equipment manufacturing, service and installation contractors, and regulatory organizations. Before updating the document, the Committee solicits input from parties interested in the petroleum marketing equipment industry.

RP400 was written as an industry service to provide a concise recommended standard procedure for testing the electrical continuity of fueling hoses, breakaway valves, swivels, nozzles, and other hanging hardware used in dispensing petroleum products. The document focuses only on gasoline and diesel fuel-dispensing equipment typically attached to motor vehicle-fueling dispensers located at vehicle fueling facilities.

Interested parties are invited to review the RP400-02 and submit comments, suggestions or recommendations for revisions. To submit your comments go to http://www.pei.org/RP400.

If you prefer a faxed form call PEI at (918) 494-9696. Instructions for completion are printed on the back of the form. All comments must be received in Tulsa by March 20, 2007, to be considered by the committee.

If you have questions or need further information, please feel free to contact Bob Young, Industry Resource Liaison, at (918) 494-9696.
