Liberty, TX (PRWeb) March 22, 2007 -- LunarEYE, Inc. announced today that it has successfully settled its GPS patent infringement suit brought against Independent Witness (IWI), of Salt Lake City, Utah, and British Petroleum America (BP), Headquartered in Houston, Texas.

In the suit filed in US District Court, Eastern District of Texas at Lufkin, Cause No. 9:05-CV-188 LunarEYE contended that IWI developed and sold GPS-Cellular/Satellite tracking technology to BP and others that infringed LunarEYE's United States Patent number 6484035. Final settlement was reached during the first week of the trial. The exact terms of the settlements are confidential. However, it was disclosed that IWI and BP both agreed to license the LunarEYE '035 patent with such licenses covering both past and future sales. (www.lunareye.com)

LunarEYE CEO, Chuck Allen, who is the company founder and the inventor of the LunarEYE technology, stated that he "is very pleased with the agreements and now hopes these companies will now enjoy terrific sales and success in the future."

Armi Easterby, an attorney with WilliamsBailey L.L.P., representing LunarEYE, stated, "this is a victory for all parties." He also said, "LunarEYE has no choice but to file these cases to protect this patent and the rest of its Intellectual Property."

Mr. Allen then stated, "LunarEYE is now actively discussing license and royalty arrangements with other companies." LunarEYE owns granted and pending patents in the US, Europe and Brazil.
