EU vows tough scrutiny of Baltic gas pipeline

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Commission vowed on
Tuesday to study thoroughly whether a planned gas pipeline
under the Baltic Sea meets strict environmental rules,
responding to concerns of some countries in the region.
